Stephen Edward McCleery

Mr. McCleery is a highly accomplished AV Peer Review Rated business and commercial general civil trial lawyer and mediator. Upon graduation from law school in 1995, Mr. McCleery has tried numerous cases before juries in both federal and state court. Since 2005, Mr. McCleery has obtained jury verdicts in excess of Twenty Million Dollars and defended several suits wherein the Plaintiffs sought damages in excess of Five Hundred Million Dollars. Mr. McCleery's trial work is evenly spread across business, commercial, contract, construction, oil & gas, land use, condemnation, eminent domain, anti-trust, products liability, personal injury, employment law, white collar crime and family law matters. Mr. McCleery also frequently handles his client's appellate work and has several published opinions to his credit.

In addition to his active trial and appellate dockets, Mr. McCleery handles a wide variety of business needs for his clients. Mr. McCleery has been actively involved in the formation of a variety of business entities including: partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations, professional corporations and non-profit corporations. Moreover, after formation, Mr. McCleery takes an active role in advising his clients on a wide variety of business issues including: employment matters, contractual matters, governmental compliance, real-estate transactions and general commercial transactions.

Mr. McCleery was born in Dover, Delaware. He obtained his bachelor of arts degree in government from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, his juris doctor degree from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas and his mediation certificate from the Blakely Advocacy Institute at the University of Houston School of Law. While at St. Mary’s Mr. McCleery was a member of the Law Review, Vice-President of the Board of Advocates, a member of Phi Delta Phi honor fraternity, inducted into the National Order of Barristers and received the Patricia Scott Award as the most outstanding advocate in the law school.

Mr. McCleery is licensed to practice law in Texas and the District of Columbia and before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Western and Northern Districts of Texas.

Terry Kim
Special Consultant

Mr. Kim was born in Seoul, Republic of Korea.  He is a graduate of Texas A&M University and St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Kim is currently Vice President and Corporate Counsel for Tribute Energy, Inc. Prior to accepting his position with Tribute Energy, Mr. Kim maintained a very successful business and commercial trial practice.  Mr. Kim and Mr. McCleery have successfully tried numerous lawsuits  together and have actively collaborating in presenting many matters before juries. Although Mr. Kim does not currently maintain an active private law practice, he brings a wide variety of expertise to the firm's management and is an invaluable asset in case development and trial presentation. Mr. Kim is also fluent in Korean and greatly assists the firm in its multi-cultural and international approach to the practice of law.
